Hey y'all!
This is Dale here, in Lafayette, LA which is about a couple hours east of New Orleans. I'm down here for a week helping out victims of hurricane Gustav and so far it's been pretty good. Our team flew into New Orleans Saturday afternoon and the first thing we did was eat some Popeyes... and let me tell you, you haven't had Popeyes until you eat it in Louisiana.
Yesterday we had Raising Cane's chicken which is a fairly new chain here in Louisiana and their secret sauce is bomb! We've also had come local favorites such as fried alligator bites, fried cat fish, fried crab claw, fried crawfish, and fried shrimp. Everything is fried and everything is awesome!
Today we drove out to a house that had fallen trees in the yard so we went to clean up. I got to use a chain saw for the first time :) Not sure where we're going tomorrow but I'm sure it will be both challenging and fun.
In our downtime we have acorn fights (don't ask), shoot some hoops, and hit a few golf balls in the yard. Anyways, our host family is the best... they are the most hospitable people and they are a blast.
I definitely want to post some pictures but I probably won't be able to get to that until we return home, but until then just use your imagination. I'll try to update again in a few days so keep checking back!
Oh, and we have a show this coming Sunday on the 26th at Neumos, you should definitely come if you can. Thanks!
Until next time,
Dale
